The challenge
Many schools face limited budgets, aging infrastructure, rising energy costs, Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) issues, and student and staff well-being concerns. Winnacunnet High School was feeling the effects of all of the above and began searching for building material solutions to address the building’s issues.
The solution
TEMPLOK Energy Saving Ceiling tiles were installed as part of Winnacunnet High School’s strategy to reduce its carbon footprint and improve the conditions for staff and students. The study looked at baseline heating energy in four classrooms and monitored that for several months. Then, Templok ceiling tiles were deployed to two classrooms and two remained untreated for comparison. Several analysis techniques were used to estimate the heating energy impact of the Templok ceiling.
